If you have it in you, have it today

If you have it in you, have it today

“I’ll feel better tomorrow.”

We’ve all said it. You may have even said it already today.

Tomorrow: the mythical land where all of human productivity lives.

We always tell ourselves that tomorrow is a better day. That tomorrow you’ll feel better, and because of that, you’ll work twice as hard.

And when you tell yourself that lie, you begin to believe it, and you start to feel better about slacking off today.

But if you take just a moment of reflection, you’ll realize tomorrow wasn’t better, because tomorrow became yesterday. Tomorrow turned into last year, and you’re still in the same place you were.

The same waistline. The same bank account. The same toxic relationship(or lack of one). The same whatever it was you wanted to change. Things are still the same, because you are still the same, and not in the good kind of way.

The lie hurt you. And it’s not even your fault. It’s one of the most clever tricks the mind plays on us to get us to give up today.

And the fix to any lie is the truth.

The truth is: if you have it in you to work twice as hard tomorrow, why aren’t you doing it now? Why aren’t you at the very least half assing it today?

Imagine this: how you feel today is as good as you will ever feel. If that were the case, would you just give up on your dreams? Would you curl up and quit?

No. Because you’re the type of person who reads stuff like this. And what I already know about you is that you’d find a way. You’d find a way to push. You’d find a way to create motivation, inspiration, and energy. You’d find a way to get to your destination. You’d find a way to walk if you couldn’t run, to crawl if you couldn’t walk. You would find a way.

Take this as your sign to find the way…today.
